About The Position

As a Vehicle Condition Assessor (VCA), you will accurately assess and document vehicle conditions for appraisals, supporting quality, transparency, efficient inventory management, and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate with Buyers, Senior Buyers, and Purchasing Managers, assist with lot merchandising, and support wholesale auction operations. The role involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions and requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

The hourly rate is $18.70–$29.90. Responsibilities

• Conduct accurate vehicle assessments and document cosmetic and mechanical conditions for appraisal analysis.
• Ensure accurate vehicle optioning during assessments and inventory updates.
• Take high-quality images of wholesale vehicles for CarMax websites.
• Support wholesale auction preparation and operations.
• Complete vehicle secures and confirmations, verify appraisal details, and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with inventory management, customer transfers, and lot merchandising as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and assist with onboarding new associates.
• Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean, orderly work area.

Benefits

• Up to 48 hours of sick time per year, accrued each pay period, for eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive-eligible associates.
• Between 80 and 200 hours of vacation time per year, depending on years of continuous service, after a 90-day waiting period, for eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive-eligible associates.
• Eight hours of pay for each of six paid scheduled holidays per year, plus one floating holiday, for eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive-eligible associates.
• Holiday premium pay for eligible associates who work on a scheduled holiday due to business need.
• Full-time salaried associates receive paid time away, with no specified limit, as needed for sick time, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, and floating holidays, subject to manager approval.
