About The Position

As a Vehicle Condition Assessor (VCA), you accurately assess and document vehicle conditions for appraisals, helping ensure quality, transparency, and efficiency in inventory management and customer satisfaction. You collaborate with Buyers, Senior Buyers, and Purchasing Managers, assist with lot merchandising, and support wholesale auction operations. The role includes vehicle assessments and optioning, wholesale-vehicle imaging, appraisal verification, and other inventory support. It requires outdoor work in varying weather conditions and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct accurate vehicle assessments, documenting cosmetic and mechanical conditions for appraisal analysis.
• Ensure accurate optioning of vehicles during assessments and inventory updates.
• Perform high-quality imaging of wholesale vehicles for CarMax websites and support wholesale auction preparation and operations.
• Complete vehicle secures and confirmations, verifying appraisal details and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist with inventory management, customer transfers, and lot merchandising as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and assist with onboarding new associates to maintain operational excellence.
• Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Benefits

• Paid sick time: eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive associates can earn up to 48 hours per year, accrued each pay period.
• Paid vacation: eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive associates receive 80 to 200 hours per year after a 90-day waiting period, depending on years of continuous service.
• Paid holidays: eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive associates receive 8 hours of pay for each of six scheduled paid holidays per year, plus one floating holiday.
• Holiday Premium Pay when an eligible associate works on a scheduled holiday due to business need.
• Full-time salaried associates receive paid time away, with no specified limit, as needed for sick time, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, and floating holidays, subject to manager approval.
