About The Position

The Vehicle Acquisition Specialist acquires additional inventory for the dealership by purchasing vehicles from customers. The role involves delivering an exceptional customer experience, managing customer expectations, and communicating throughout AutoNation’s “We’ll Buy Your Car” process. The associate works to meet the program’s “check within an hour” promise.

The position offers flexible hours and hourly pay plus a bonus for each vehicle purchased. The specialist responds to leads, identifies prospective sellers, schedules appraisals, reviews condition reports, inspects vehicles, and makes vehicle offers. Customers who prefer to trade in their vehicles are referred to the sales team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Extremely self-motivated.
• Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.
• Ability to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Demonstrated communication, prospecting, and interpersonal skills.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Experience and desire to work with technology.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming leads from AutoNation and third-party websites, as well as phone, internet, and walk-in traffic.
• Use available resources to identify and engage private parties looking to sell their vehicles.
• Set appointments for potential customers to visit the dealership for an appraisal.
• Execute AutoNation’s We’ll Buy Your Car Same-Day Payment process.
• Review vehicle condition reports and inspect vehicles onsite.
• Interact with customers throughout the day, in person and over the phone.
• Refer customers who prefer to trade in their vehicles to the sales team.
• Make vehicle offers using sound judgment, research, and interpersonal skills.
