About The Position

The Vehicle Acquisition Specialist acquires additional dealership inventory by purchasing vehicles from customers. The role focuses on providing an exceptional customer experience, managing expectations, and communicating throughout AutoNation’s “We’ll Buy Your Car” process, with the goal of meeting the program’s “check within an hour” promise.

The position offers flexible hours and hourly pay plus a bonus for each vehicle purchased. The stated compensation range is $3,000 to $8,000 per month. The specialist responds to leads, identifies private vehicle sellers, arranges appraisal appointments, reviews vehicle condition reports, inspects vehicles, and makes offers. The role also refers customers who prefer to trade in their vehicles to the sales team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Extremely self-motivated.
• Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.
• Ability to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Demonstrated communication, prospecting, and interpersonal skills.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Experience and desire to work with technology.
• Sound judgment and research skills to make offers on vehicles.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record.
• Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming leads from AutoNation and third-party websites, by phone, internet, and walk-in traffic.
• Use available resources to identify and engage private parties looking to sell their vehicles.
• Set appointments for potential customers to visit the dealership for an appraisal.
• Execute AutoNation’s We’ll Buy Your Car Same-Day Payment process.
• Review vehicle condition reports and inspect vehicles onsite.
• Interact with customers throughout the day, in person and over the phone.
• Refer customers who prefer to trade in their vehicles to the sales team.
• Manage customer expectations and communicate throughout the vehicle-buying process.
• Work toward delivering the program’s “check within an hour” promise.
