About The Position

The Van Driver provides transportation for residents to company-sponsored activities and medical appointments, and assists the activities team with setting up and conducting activities and programming. This is a non-exempt, hourly position reporting to the Program Director. The listed salary range is $22.00–$24.00 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or higher level of education.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver's license and a driving record in good standing.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Use proper body mechanics when performing physical duties, including lifting and supporting residents.

• Previous experience as a driver for seniors.

Responsibilities

• Drive residents safely to and from assigned destinations.
• Inspect the vehicle before each use to ensure it is safe and clean before leaving the community.
• Ensure preventive and other required vehicle maintenance is performed in a timely manner.
• Verify that passengers and their equipment, including wheelchairs and walkers, are safely secured before departure.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and resident attendance.
• Assist with setting up tables and chairs for resident activities.
• Conduct activities and programming for residents.
• Participate in and attend scheduled in-service training.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and community policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
