About The Position

Benchmark is seeking a compassionate Van Driver to provide transportation for community residents. The position assists with planning, coordinating, and implementing activities that require van transportation. The schedule is Saturday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with additional shifts when needed.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent certificate is preferred.
• Demonstrated interest in working with older adults and knowledge of their needs.
• Demonstrated activities or recreational experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicles according to warranty requirements and/or the internal maintenance plan to ensure they are safe and in working order.
• Act as an Activity Assistant during excursions and remain with the group except when parking the van.
• Transport residents to and from medical appointments, outings, and shopping trips.
• Monitor resident activity and alert staff when assistance is needed to ensure resident safety.
