About The Position

Benchmark at Alexandria is hiring a compassionate part-time Van Driver to provide transportation for community residents. The role assists with planning, coordinating, and implementing activities that require van transportation. The driver also serves as an Activity Assistant during excursions and monitors residents to help maintain their safety.

Requirements

• Demonstrated interest in older adults and knowledge of serving their needs.
• Demonstrated activities or recreational experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicles in accordance with warranty requirements and/or the internal maintenance plan to ensure they are safe and in working order.
• Act as an Activity Assistant during excursions and stay with the group except when parking the van.
• Transport residents to and from medical appointments, outings, and shopping trips.
• Monitor resident activity and alert staff when assistance is necessary to assure resident safety.
