Part-Time Driver Van

About The Position
The Van Driver provides transportation for community residents and assists in planning, coordinating, and implementing activities that require van transportation. The schedule is Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with additional work when needed. On excursions, the driver also acts as an Activity Assistant and stays with the group except while parking the van.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent certificate is preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in working with elderly people and knowledge of their needs.
- Demonstrated activities or recreational experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Responsibilities
- Maintain vehicles in accordance with warranty requirements and/or the internal maintenance plan to ensure they are safe and in working order.
- Act as an Activity Assistant on excursions and stay with the group except while parking the van.
- Transport residents to and from medical appointments, outings, and shopping trips.
- Monitor resident activity and alert staff when assistance is necessary to help ensure resident safety.
