About The Position

This position will serve in a dual role as a Rehab Therapy Tech and Van Driver. PRN positions available! The Van Driver performs a variety of direct patient care activities including: assisting and accompanying all patients who are transferred to and from the facility via the facility van, and assisting in maintenance when van activities are complete. This position provides direct patient care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The Rehabilitation Therapy Technician I plays an integral role in supporting rehabilitation therapists and delivering exceptional patient care. Responsibilities include setting up equipment, maintaining a safe working environment, and collaborating closely with therapists and nurses. Requirements

• Valid driver's license appropriate for the heaviest class vehicle to be driven
• CPR and First Aid Training
• Previous transportation experience required
• Must be 25 years of age
• CPR certification preferred (unless hospital policy requires otherwise)
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Has completed elements required for clinical ladder Rehab Tech I or equivalent training in school or on-the-job training

Responsibilities

• Assisting and accompanying all patients who are transferred to and from the facility via the facility van
• Assisting in maintenance when van activities are complete
• Setting up equipment
• Maintaining a safe working environment
• Collaborating closely with therapists and nurses
• Supporting therapists’ daily patient care and therapy activities
• Facilitating effective communication with patients, families, and caregivers
• Collaborating with the healthcare team to maintain patient safety and deliver patient-centered treatment
• Preparing and transporting patients according to the patient schedule
• Communicating to therapists on outcomes/observations of patient care activities
