Full Time Van Delivery Driver
About The Position
Gordon Food Service Store, the retail division of Gordon Food Service, is hiring a Van Delivery Driver. The role is responsible for courteous, timely, and accurate delivery of products along a variable daily route. Drivers operate the van professionally and safely, demonstrating attention to detail and safe work habits. The position also assists with store operations before or after completing the delivery route. Delivery work includes locating and picking wholesale customer orders in-store, maintaining customer relationships, delivering products accurately and on time, and performing daily pre- and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections. In-store duties include processing customer purchases at the point of sale, safeguarding cash, checks, and merchandise, receiving and merchandising products, maintaining product rotation and quality, executing end-cap and planogram displays, and organizing top stock, freezer, cooler, and backroom areas. The position is based at the Gordon Food Service Store at 6805 Dixie Hwy, Fairfield, Ohio. Store hours are Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The company is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, and Easter.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- Unrestricted standard operator's license.
- Clean driving record, with no drug or alcohol offenses in the last five years.
- Successfully pass pre-employment checks, including a drug screen, criminal background check, and motor vehicle report.
- Able to use a two-wheel cart with a load weighing up to 350 pounds.
- Able to lift up to 70 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of previous delivery driving experience.
- At least one year of experience in customer service or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Accurately locate and pick in-store orders for wholesale customers.
- Build and maintain good customer relationships.
- Deliver Gordon Food Service products accurately and on time.
- Operate the delivery van professionally and safely, following safe work habits.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and equipment.
- Assist with store operations before or after completing the delivery route.
- Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently through the point of sale.
- Protect cash, checks, and merchandise by following company policies and procedures.
- Receive and merchandise products accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain proper product rotation and quality.
- Execute end-cap and planogram displays.
- Organize top stock, freezer, cooler, and backroom areas.
