We are seeking a dependable, service-minded Valet to join our team and play an essential role in creating a seamless, welcoming, and memorable island experience. This is a dynamic position for someone who enjoys working with people, staying active, and taking pride in providing thoughtful service while supporting the daily operations of our unique island community.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid South Carolina Driver's License required.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and sit.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull heavy cargo trailers and handle furniture, appliances, packages, and other freight.
  • Ability to operate gas and electric vehicles safely.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of related experience and/or training preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome members and guests promptly and courteously upon arrival and departure.
  • Provide personalized assistance and information regarding Haig Point facilities, amenities, events, and services.
  • Operate shuttle services in coordination with ferry arrival and departure schedules.
  • Safely operate gas and electric vehicles throughout the island.
  • Load, unload, transport, tag, and track cargo and freight from vessels and transportation vehicles.
  • Sort and distribute cargo to more than 250 island addresses.
  • Deliver packages, freight, and inter-company mail to member and guest residences.
  • Place delivered cargo appropriately inside member and guest homes when required.
  • Assist with guest registration, check-in/check-out, telephone service, and other hospitality needs.
  • Maintain and distribute entrance, boarding, and parking passes.
  • Assist with event setup, breakdown, and event operations.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of facilities, vehicles, carts, vans, buses, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with posting charges and proper billing.
  • Provide directions and knowledgeable information about property facilities, amenities, and events.
  • Follow all departmental policies, procedures, safety standards, and opening/closing protocols.
  • Assist other departments with various operational needs as directed by management.
  • Maintain flexibility and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as business needs evolve.
  • Attend staff meetings and actively contribute to a culture of teamwork and exceptional service.
