OHSU DCH PT Valet Driver
About The Position
SP+, a Metropolis company, is hiring a part-time valet driver for its OHSU Marquam Hill Doernbecher Children's Hospital operation in Portland, Oregon. The role pays $19.00 per hour, and tips may be earned in addition to the hourly rate. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The successful candidate will be energetic, responsible, dependable, and customer-focused, helping provide a smooth and safe valet experience. Employees are expected to arrive on time in a clean uniform and remain in uniform throughout their shift. Eligible employees may participate in the company's benefits plans.
Requirements
- Previous customer service experience.
- A valid state driver's license, current address, and acceptable driving record; a clean driving record sufficient to pass an MVR check is necessary.
- Provide proof of legal eligibility to work in the United States if hired.
- Communicate accurate information to customers and coworkers and respond professionally to customer problems or complaints.
- Read, write, add, and subtract U.S. currency, and understand instructions, short emails, and memos.
- Follow written and verbal instructions and adapt calmly to changes, delays, and unexpected events while working.
- Meet the physical demands of the role, including regularly standing and walking, handling cash and equipment, and occasionally sitting, climbing or balancing, and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Previous parking experience is desired.
- Ability to drive a manual-transmission vehicle is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Resolve client requests and concerns efficiently, look for solutions to problems, and communicate proactively with clients.
- Inspect each vehicle before parking it and note any findings.
- Explain valet rates to customers.
- Follow traffic laws and safe driving practices.
- Report accidents, safety hazards, unusual occurrences, and policy violations to management.
- Know the area's major streets, landmarks, and freeways to support customers' transportation experience.
- Arrive on time for each scheduled shift in a clean uniform and remain in complete uniform throughout the shift.
- Assist management with additional duties as assigned.
