About The Position

Service design is the activity of planning an organization’s resources and practices in order to better support customer experiences over time. Students in this class will be introduced to principles of good service design and how it relates to user experience design and user experience research. Students will work on a project to connect back of house processes to front of house experiences culminating in the creation of a service blueprint.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree
  • Teaching experience at the college or university level or experience providing training in UX, Service Design or equivalent is required
  • Professional experience in UX, Service Design or equivalent is required

Nice To Haves

  • PhD with emphasis in User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Interaction Design, Business or equivalent is preferred
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in the classroom is preferred
  • Currency with industry best practices and tools relevant to the course is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan organization's resources and practices to better support customer experiences over time.
  • Introduce students to principles of good service design.
  • Explain how service design relates to user experience design and user experience research.
  • Guide students in a project to connect back of house processes to front of house experiences.
  • Oversee the creation of a service blueprint as a project deliverable.
