About The Position
An introduction to both a conceptual and an experiential understanding of issues and topics in community psychology. Topics include: the history of community psychology; stress and social support; oppression and social intervention; primary prevention and health promotion; self-help; mediating structures; community mental health; alternative settings; organizational change; community organization and community development. (A community service learning/field placement is required.)
Requirements
- Master’s Degree or minimum two years progress in doctoral program
- Specialization in Psychology
- Specialization in Community Psychology
- CV (Maximum of 10 pages, with 12-point font and 2.54 cm margins)
- Candidate Application Form (CAF)
Nice To Haves
- Master's with advanced doctoral training preferred
- Previous university teaching experience
- Refereed publications in the area preferred
- Experience with Community Service Learning (CSL)
Responsibilities
- Teach Community Psychology course
- Provide conceptual and experiential understanding of community psychology topics
- Incorporate community service learning/field placement requirement
