About The Position

Introduction to the scientific study of how people think about, influence, and relate to one another. Topics include: social cognition, the self and identity; attitudes and attitude change; persuasion; conformity; group processes; cultural influences; prejudice and discrimination; helping; aggression; interpersonal attraction; intimate relationships; and applied issues (e.g., health, environmental, political and legal applications).

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology.
  • Advanced doctoral training in Psychology preferred.
  • Previous university teaching experience preferred.
  • Refereed publications in the area of Psychology preferred.
  • CV (Maximum of 10 pages, with 12-point font and 2.54 cm margins).
  • Candidate Application Form (CAF) submitted.
  • Verification of highest degree (highly recommended to include with application).
  • External applicants must provide verification of highest degree.

  • Advanced doctoral training in Psychology.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Social Psychology course (PS270 BR) during the Winter 2027 term.
  • Deliver lectures on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00 PM to 2:20 PM.
  • Manage a class size of approximately 100 students.
  • Assess student applications based on the Candidate Application Form (CAF), Curriculum Vitae, and any specifically referenced pages in supplemental documents.
  • Potentially perform marking and grading, and coordination of large classes or multi-section courses as per the collective agreement.
