About The Position

Great Western Dining Service, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and reliable Utility Worker at its Newman University location. The position is responsible for maintaining kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils. The role involves dishwashing, cleaning kitchen surfaces and facilities, handling trash, and potentially unloading deliveries or moving supplies and equipment. The employee must follow HACCP, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
• Basic knowledge of safety procedures and practices.
• Continuous walking and other means of mobility for up to 8 hours a day.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and pull, and frequently lift or move up to 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a utility or maintenance role is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes or pans by hand or using a dish machine.
• Wash work tables, walls, refrigerators, and equipment.
• Sweep, mop, clean, and vacuum floors.
• Remove trash and garbage to designated areas.
• May unload grocery deliveries or transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Clean equipment and facilities using specific chemicals while ensuring safety and sanitary standards.
• Comply with all HACCP and safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
