About The Position

Colorado Springs Utilities is hiring a Utility Worker II to support our Lift Station Maintenance team responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting systems and equipment that support the reliability and performance of our wastewater collection systems. This job will require working overtime, weekends, holidays, and 24-hour callout based on business needs.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience in wastewater and/or in a construction or other manual labor-type environment is valued
Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license is required
Basic computer skills (e.g., time entry, email communication, Microsoft Teams)
Ability to use hand tools and operate specialized equipment and vehicles
Ability to communicate effectively, collaborate, and commitment to performing work safely

Responsibilities

Operating wastewater manhole and water valve box adjustment equipment (i.e., raising and lowering manholes, valves, test stations, and vaults)
Helping maintain and repair wastewater gravity pipelines and force mains
Assisting with wastewater pumping, flushing, and transporting equipment
Helping monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot pressure throughout the system
Helping inspect and maintain underground wastewater tanks
Maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting wastewater systems and pipelines
Learning to calibrate, operate, and maintain equipment
