About The Position

The Utility Steward/Dishwasher supports hospitality at DoubleTree by Hilton Abilene Downtown Convention Center by keeping kitchen and dining areas clean and ensuring serviceware and supplies are ready for use. The role cleans chinaware, silverware, cooking utensils, pots, and pans; burnishes silver; monitors and organizes stock; and performs kitchen cleaning such as mopping and trash removal. The steward also prepares clean serviceware for banquets and functions, helps train new stewards, and follows applicable health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations.

Responsibilities

• Clean chinaware, silverware, and cooking utensils; scrub pots and pans; and burnish silver.
• Monitor supply and equipment stock levels and keep items well stocked and organized.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including mopping and removing trash.
• Prepare and set up clean serviceware for banquets and functions.
• Train and mentor new steward team members.
• Comply with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations.
