About The Position

Performs work in the construction, renovation, modification, installation, and repair of streets. Performs construction, pipe installation and cement work including laying curbs, streets, sidewalks; working on a variety of structures; and performing related work incidental to these tasks. Is required to work under adverse environmental conditions. Work is performed under the supervision of a higher classification and reviewed by direct observation, while in progress, and upon completion.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate.
• Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions.
• Valid State of Florida Driver's License required.
• Must be able to be reliably contacted by phone in case of an urgent work situation.

Nice To Haves

• Six (6) months of experience in road construction, building construction, masonry, or related experience desired (for Utility Service Worker I).
• Two (2) years of experience in road construction (for Utility Service Worker II).
• Experience should include storm drain construction, or asphalt or brick construction, sidewalk, curb and miscellaneous concrete construction, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience (for Utility Service Worker II).
