About The Position
The City of Seabrook is looking for a dependable Street Maintenance Worker I to join our Streets and Drainage team. This is a hands-on role supporting the maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems that residents rely on every day. If you're someone who takes pride in physical work, works well on a team, and understands the importance of doing the job safely and correctly, this could be a good fit. This role supports the daily function and long-term reliability of the City's infrastructure.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to safely operate equipment and use hand and power tools
- Willingness to learn, follow direction, and work as part of a team
- Strong focus on safety and doing the job right
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment such as trucks, loaders, rollers, and other tools used in street and drainage maintenance
- Assist with construction and repair of streets, sidewalks, curbs, and gutters
- Install and maintain concrete, asphalt, signage, and pavement markings
- Perform right-of-way maintenance including mowing, trimming, and general upkeep
- Support drainage system work including pipe installation, ditch cleaning, and inspections
- Identify and address issues such as blockages, damage, or wear in public infrastructure
- Support the team with other duties as needed, including emergency response
