About The Position

ELM Utility Services is seeking a Utility Locate Technician in the Four Corners, Montana area. This role involves providing essential services to the community by marking underground utilities such as gas, electric, and communications systems to prevent excavation damage. You will be trained by ELM using their equipment and proprietary software, Launchpoint, to ensure efficiency and safety. The job is performed outdoors, utilizing a company-provided vehicle as a mobile office, and requires independent work to complete daily locate requests.

Requirements

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug, Motor Vehicle Record, and background check.
High School Diploma or GED.
At least 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license.
Must comply with all Federal Department of Transportation regulations for Safety-Sensitive DOT positions.
Prohibition of marijuana use (medical or recreational) due to federal regulations.

Responsibilities

Locate and mark underground utilities, primarily electric and gas lines, using marking paint, flags, and whiskers.
Complete all necessary digital documentation and paperwork.
Receive daily route and locate requests via a handheld smartphone.
Respond to emergency calls in a timely manner.
Work a route of locate requests to be completed each day.
Potentially locate communications or other facilities as directed by local management.
