About The Position
ELM Utility Services is seeking a Utility Locate Technician in the Lakeside, Montana area. This role involves providing essential services to the community by marking underground utilities such as gas, electric, and communications systems to prevent excavation damage. Technicians use state-of-the-art technology and a mobile office setup, with paid training provided by ELM.
Requirements
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
Responsibilities
- Work independently outdoors utilizing a company-provided vehicle as a mobile office.
- Work a route of locate requests daily.
- Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate and mark underground utilities, primarily electric and gas lines, using marking paint, flags, and whiskers.
- Complete all necessary digital documentation and paperwork.
- Receive daily route and locate requests by logging in each morning from a vehicle/mobile office handheld smartphone.
- Respond to emergency calls in a timely manner as directed.
- Work periodic overtime and weekend on-call rotation may be requested.
