About The Position
ELM Utility Services is seeking a Utility Locate Technician in the Bigfork, Montana area. This role involves providing essential services to the community by marking underground utilities to prevent excavation damage. You will be trained by ELM using their equipment and proprietary software system. The job ensures the maintenance and dependability of gas, electric, and communication systems critical to modern life.
Requirements
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
Responsibilities
- Work independently outdoors utilizing a company-provided vehicle as a mobile office.
- Complete a daily route of locate requests.
- Safely and efficiently locate and mark underground utilities, primarily electric and gas lines, using marking paint, flags, and whiskers.
- Complete all necessary digital documentation and paperwork.
- Receive daily route and locate requests by logging in each morning from a handheld smartphone.
- Respond to emergency calls in a timely manner as directed.
- Work periodic overtime and weekend on-call rotation as requested.
