About The Position

The Utility Clerk performs general maintenance and cleaning duties and maintains high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. The role gathers and returns carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, removes trash and debris, and ensures carts are clean, in working order, and available to members. The position also supports the club’s cleanliness and appearance, performs minor routine repairs, follows club policies and safety procedures, and may assist in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Requirements

• Successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas; parking-lot cart functions may be performed by those under 18.
• Ability to perform the physical and environmental demands described, including frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and, with assistance, moving heavier or awkward objects.
• Ability to use a pallet jack to pull and push pallets.

Nice To Haves

• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
• Prior retail or wholesale experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide members with prompt, courteous service and assistance while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the club, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
• Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance; remove trash and debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and exterior areas.
• Keep carts stocked at the entrance, verify that they are clean and in working order, and remove unsuitable carts from use.
• Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Perform maintenance and cleaning duties such as wet and dry mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
• Prioritize maintenance and cleaning responsibilities efficiently across the club.
• Operate floor scrubbers, trash compactors, and cardboard balers safely and according to established standards.
• Restock maintenance and cleaning supplies and keep receiving-dock supply areas and maintenance closets clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be needed.
• Follow club policies and procedures and complete other assigned duties, including work in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, and full attendance.
