About The Position

The Utility Clerk performs general maintenance and cleaning duties while maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. The role includes gathering and returning carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, keeping carts clean and in working order, and maintaining the cleanliness of the club’s interior and exterior areas. The clerk provides prompt, courteous service and assistance to members, supports club policies and procedures, and may perform other duties or work in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.

Requirements

• Successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas.
• Use a pallet jack to pull and push pallets.
• Meet the physical and environmental demands described for the role, including frequently lifting objects up to 50 pounds and, with assistance, potentially moving heavier or awkward objects.

Nice To Haves

• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
• Prior retail or wholesale experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide members with prompt and courteous service and assistance.
• Maintain high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members.
• Clean all areas of the club, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
• Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, ensuring carts are stocked, clean, and in working order.
• Remove trash and debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and exterior of the club.
• Remove carts that are not suitable for use.
• Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks including wet and dry mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor club grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
• Prioritize maintenance and cleaning responsibilities efficiently across the club.
• Safely operate the floor scrubber, trash compactor, and cardboard baler according to established safety standards.
• Restock maintenance and cleaning supplies and keep supply areas on the receiving dock and in maintenance closets clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be required.
• Maintain club policies and procedures.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
