About The Position

The Utility Clerk performs general maintenance and cleaning duties while maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. The role gathers and returns carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, keeps carts clean and in working order, and maintains the cleanliness of club interiors, exterior grounds, and parking areas. The position also involves routine building maintenance, restocking cleaning supplies, operating specified equipment safely, and providing prompt, courteous service to members. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.

Requirements

• Successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas.
• Be able to use a pallet jack to pull and push pallets.

Nice To Haves

• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience.
• Prior retail or wholesale experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide members with prompt and courteous service and assistance.
• Maintain high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members.
• Clean all areas of the club, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
• Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, keeping entrance carts stocked, clean, and in working order.
• Remove carts unsuitable for use and return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Remove trash and debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and exterior of the club.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance duties including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
• Prioritize maintenance and cleaning responsibilities efficiently across the club.
• Operate the floor scrubber, trash compactor, and cardboard baler safely and in accordance with established standards.
• Restock maintenance and cleaning supplies and keep receiving-dock supply areas and maintenance closets clean and organized.
• Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be required.
• Follow club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including work in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
