Utility Clerk Part Time
About The Position
The Utility Clerk performs general maintenance and cleaning duties while maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. The role includes gathering and returning carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, keeping carts clean and usable, and ensuring they are readily available to members. The Utility Clerk also maintains cleanliness throughout the club and its outdoor grounds, performs minor routine building repairs, and supports other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
Requirements
- Successfully complete required training and certification processes.
- May be under 18 for parking lot cart functions; must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas.
- Frequent lifting of objects up to 50 pounds; heavy or awkward objects over 50 pounds may require assistance.
- Use a pallet jack to pull and push pallets.
Nice To Haves
- Prior maintenance or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
- Prior retail or wholesale experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide members with prompt, courteous service and assistance while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the club, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds and parking lot.
- Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance; remove trash and debris from the parking lot, cart corrals and exterior.
- Ensure carts are stocked at the entrance, clean and in working order; remove carts that are unsuitable for use.
- Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
- Perform maintenance and cleaning duties such as wet and dry mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles and pulling pallets.
- Maintain outdoor grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks and outdoor trash receptacles.
- Prioritize maintenance and cleaning work efficiently across the club.
- Operate floor scrubber, trash compactor and cardboard baler safely and according to established safety standards.
- Restock maintenance and cleaning supplies and keep supply areas on the receiving dock and maintenance closets clean, neat and organized.
- Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be needed.
- Maintain club policies and procedures.
- Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
- Attend work regularly and predictably.
