About The Position

The Utility Clerk performs general maintenance and cleaning duties and helps maintain high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. The role includes gathering and returning carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, keeping carts clean and in working order, and maintaining the cleanliness of the club’s interior and exterior areas. The Utility Clerk may also perform minor building repairs, restock cleaning supplies, and work in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Requirements

• Successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Be at least 18 years old to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas.
• May be under 18 to perform parking lot cart functions.
• Be able to frequently lift objects up to 30 pounds; lifting and moving heavier or awkward objects may be required with assistance.
• Be able to use a pallet jack to pull and push pallets.

Nice To Haves

• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
• Prior retail or wholesale experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide members with prompt and courteous service and assistance.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards for members and team members.
• Clean club areas, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
• Gather carts and flatbeds from the parking lot and return them to the club entrance.
• Remove trash and debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and exterior of the club.
• Keep carts stocked at the entrance, verify they are clean and working, and remove carts that are unsuitable for use.
• Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks, including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
• Prioritize maintenance and cleaning duties efficiently across the club.
• Operate the floor scrubber, trash compactor, and cardboard baler safely and according to established safety standards.
• Restock maintenance and cleaning supplies and keep supply areas clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be required.
• Follow club policies and procedures, and perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
