Utility Clerk Part Time
About The Position
The Utility Clerk performs general maintenance and cleaning duties to maintain high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. The role includes gathering and returning carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, keeping carts accessible and in working order, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of indoor and outdoor club areas. The Utility Clerk may also perform minor building repairs, return unused merchandise to the sales floor, and assist in other departments as needed. The position requires reliable, predictable attendance and completion of required training and certification processes. Team members are expected to provide courteous member service, follow club policies and safety procedures, work collaboratively, and help maintain the club’s standards for cleanliness and presentation.
Requirements
- Successfully complete required training and certification processes.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas; parking lot cart functions may be performed by individuals under 18.
- Ability to use a pallet jack to pull and push pallets.
- The role involves frequently lifting objects up to 30 pounds and may involve lifting or moving heavier or awkward objects with assistance.
Nice To Haves
- Prior maintenance or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
- Prior retail or wholesale experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide members with prompt and courteous service and assistance.
- Maintain safety and sanitation standards for members and team members.
- Clean all areas of the club, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
- Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance; remove trash and debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and club exterior.
- Keep carts stocked at the entrance, verify they are clean and in working order, and remove unsuitable carts from use.
- Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks such as wet and dry mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
- Maintain outdoor grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
- Prioritize maintenance and cleaning duties efficiently across the club.
- Safely operate floor scrubbers, trash compactors, and cardboard balers according to established safety standards.
- Restock maintenance and cleaning supplies and keep supply areas on the receiving dock and maintenance closets neat and organized.
- Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be needed.
- Follow club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
- Contribute to a safe and positive environment, collaborate respectfully, and uphold club service and cleanliness standards.
