About The Position

The Utility Clerk performs general maintenance and cleaning duties while maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. The role includes gathering and returning carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, keeping carts clean and in working order, and maintaining the cleanliness of the club’s interior and exterior areas. The Utility Clerk provides prompt, courteous member assistance, follows club policies and procedures, and may perform other duties or work in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Requirements

• Successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas.
• May be less than 18 years of age to perform parking lot cart functions.

Nice To Haves

• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience.
• Prior retail or wholesale experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide members with prompt and courteous service and assistance.
• Maintain high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members.
• Clean all areas of the club, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
• Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, keep carts stocked at the entrance, and verify that carts are clean and in working order.
• Remove carts that are not suitable for use and return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Remove trash and debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and exterior of the club.
• Perform maintenance and cleaning duties such as mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
• Prioritize maintenance and cleaning responsibilities across the club efficiently.
• Operate floor scrubber, trash compactor, and cardboard baler machines safely and efficiently in accordance with established safety standards.
• Restock maintenance and cleaning supplies and keep supply areas on the receiving dock and in maintenance closets clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be required.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
