About The Position

The Utility Clerk performs general maintenance and cleaning duties to maintain high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. The role includes gathering and returning carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, keeping carts clean and in working order, and maintaining the cleanliness of club interiors, outdoor grounds, and parking areas. The Utility Clerk also operates cleaning and materials-handling equipment, restocks supplies, performs minor building repairs, and notifies management when major repairs may be needed. Team members are expected to follow club policies and procedures, provide courteous member service, work collaboratively, and maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.

Requirements

• Must successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas.
• May be less than 18 years of age to perform parking lot cart functions.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Ability to perform physical duties that may include frequent bending, climbing, crawling, pulling, reaching, stooping, and ladder or step-stool climbing.
• Frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds; heavier or awkward objects may require lifting and moving with assistance.
• Use a pallet jack to pull and push pallets.

Nice To Haves

• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
• Prior retail or wholesale experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide members with prompt and courteous service and assistance.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards for members and team members.
• Clean all club areas, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
• Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance; keep carts stocked, clean, and in working order, and remove unsuitable carts from service.
• Remove trash and debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and exterior of the club.
• Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Perform maintenance and cleaning duties, including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
• Prioritize maintenance and cleaning responsibilities efficiently across the club.
• Operate floor scrubber, trash compactor, and cardboard baler safely and according to established safety standards.
• Restock maintenance and cleaning supplies and keep receiving-dock supply areas and maintenance closets clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be required.
• Follow all club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including work in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
• Complete required training and certification processes.
