About The Position

The Utility Clerk performs general maintenance and cleaning duties while maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. The role gathers and returns carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, keeps carts stocked, clean, and in working order, and helps maintain the club’s interior and exterior spaces. The position also includes operating cleaning and material-handling equipment, restocking supplies, performing minor building repairs, and notifying management when major repairs may be needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Requirements

• Successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas; people under 18 may perform parking lot cart functions.
• Frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds; lifting and moving heavier or awkward objects may be required with assistance.
• Use a pallet jack to pull and push pallets.
• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience is preferred but not required.
• Prior retail or wholesale experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide members with prompt and courteous service and assistance while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the club, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
• Gather and return carts and flatbeds to the club entrance; remove trash and debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and club exterior.
• Keep carts stocked at the entrance, verify they are clean and in working order, and remove unsuitable carts from use.
• Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks, including wet and dry mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
• Prioritize maintenance and cleaning tasks efficiently across the club.
• Safely operate the floor scrubber, trash compactor, and cardboard baler according to established safety standards.
• Restock maintenance and cleaning supplies and keep supply areas on the receiving dock and maintenance closets clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be needed.
• Follow club policies and procedures, perform other assigned duties, and work in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
