About The Position

The Utility Clerk performs general maintenance and cleaning duties to maintain high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. The role includes maintaining cleanliness throughout the club, gathering and returning carts and flatbeds from the parking lot, and keeping carts clean, in working order, and available at the club entrance. The position also supports outdoor grounds maintenance, routine building repairs, supply organization, and other duties as assigned, including work in other departments as needed.

The schedule is Thursday through Sunday between 1 p.m. and closing. The position requires regular, predictable, full attendance and may involve working both indoors and outdoors, operating cleaning and material-handling equipment, and moving objects of varying weights.

Requirements

• Successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas.
• Meet the physical demands of the role, including frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and, with assistance, moving heavier or awkward objects.
• Use a pallet jack to pull and push pallets.

Nice To Haves

• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience.
• Prior retail or wholesale experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide members with prompt and courteous service and assistance.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards for members and team members.
• Clean all areas of the club, including the sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
• Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance, and ensure carts are stocked, clean, and in working order.
• Remove trash and debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and exterior of the club.
• Remove carts that are not suitable for use.
• Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
• Prioritize maintenance and cleaning responsibilities efficiently across the club.
• Operate the floor scrubber, trash compactor, and cardboard baler safely and efficiently in accordance with established safety standards.
• Restock maintenance and cleaning supplies and keep supply areas on the receiving dock and in maintenance closets clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be required.
• Follow club policies and procedures.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
