Used Car Service Technician
About The Position
DCH Toyota of Torrance is hiring Used Car Service Technicians to diagnose, maintain, and repair Toyota vehicles in a high-volume service department. The position is paid on a flat-rate basis, with a stated range of $16.90–$35.00 per hour depending on level. It may also be eligible for short- and/or long-term incentives, including production and productivity bonuses. Actual pay may vary based on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and physical location, with final compensation established through the interview process. The department operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The employer highlights Toyota factory training, additional certification opportunities, modern diagnostic equipment and manufacturer-approved tools, a clean and collaborative shop, and opportunities for career advancement and technical development. Requirements
- At least 1 year of previous used automotive service technician experience.
- Diagnostic and repair skills.
- Ability to succeed in a busy automotive shop and work collaboratively with technicians and service staff.
- Valid driver's license in the applicant's state of residence and an acceptable driving record.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- At least 18 years old.
Nice To Haves
- ASE certifications are preferred but not required.
- Manufacturer training is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair Toyota vehicles according to manufacturer standards.
- Perform advanced mechanical, electrical, drivability, and diagnostic repairs.
- Complete maintenance services.
- Communicate repair recommendations and vehicle status to service advisors.
- Maintain productivity, quality, and safety standards.
