Requirements

  • Automotive experience required.
  • Proven success in used vehicle sales with measurable performance results.
  • Strong understanding of used car operations, inventory management, appraisals, pricing, and market strategy.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and develop others.
  • Strong sales skills with a history of achieving and exceeding goals.
  • Ability to create accountability while maintaining a positive and productive environment.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of used vehicle sales operations to achieve dealership volume, gross profit, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing used car sales team focused on results, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and retain top automotive sales talent.
  • Develop and execute strategies to maximize used vehicle sales, profitability, inventory turn, and market competitiveness.
  • Partner with acquisition, appraisal, and inventory teams to ensure the right vehicles are in stock and positioned for success.
  • Analyze market trends, pricing, aging inventory, and competitive activity to make informed business decisions.
  • Drive strong sales processes, effective follow-up, and exceptional customer engagement throughout the buying experience.
  • Work closely with Finance, Service, and dealership leadership to maximize every opportunity and deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Conduct daily sales meetings, performance coaching, and ongoing training to elevate team results.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and implement action plans to improve sales effectiveness and profitability.
  • Ensure vehicles are properly merchandised, priced competitively, and presented to maximize customer interest and sales opportunity.
  • Maintain compliance with dealership policies, industry standards, and all state and federal regulations.
  • Create and maintain a positive, professional, and competitive team culture.
