About The Position

Kansas City Hyundai is looking for an experienced and driven Used Car Acquisitions Manager to build and lead a high-performing vehicle buying center focused on purchasing 100+ vehicles per month directly from the public, service drive, and private sellers. This is a leadership opportunity for someone who understands the used car market, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to help grow one of the region’s expanding automotive groups.

Requirements

Extensive used vehicle knowledge and appraisal experience
Strong understanding of current automotive market conditions and trends
Excellent communication and phone skills
Proven leadership and team development abilities
Ability to work independently and drive results
High energy, self-motivated, and goal-oriented mindset

Nice To Haves

Experience with inventory acquisition, desking, or used car operations preferred

Responsibilities

Build and manage a vehicle acquisition department from the ground up
Develop strategies to acquire inventory from the street, service drive, and online leads
Hire, train, and develop a team of buyers and appraisers
Accurately appraise used vehicles using current market data and trends
Work closely with sales and service departments to maximize acquisition opportunities
Maintain strong follow-up and communication with customers
Monitor auction values, market conditions, and inventory trends daily
Create processes that drive performance, accountability, and growth
