About The Position
A locum tenens Urologist is needed to provide inpatient, call-only urology coverage in Harlingen, Texas. Coverage is scheduled for November 10–16 and November 21–30, 2026, with 24-hour call shifts running from 8 a.m. to 8 a.m. The call type is beeper, with a 30-minute response time. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered by the vendor. Temporary privileges are available; hospital privileges are not required. The physician will provide comprehensive urology consultations and management for inpatients, perform general urological procedures, manage emergencies, conduct diagnostic evaluations, and collaborate with hospital staff on patient care and follow-up. The required clinical scope includes adult general urology and the procedures listed in the posting. Pediatric, neonatal, and other advanced procedures are preferred.
Requirements
- Board certified; board-eligible candidates are also indicated as eligible.
- Licensed in Texas or holding a Universal License (IMLC).
- Required experience with general urology and adult patients.
- Required procedural capabilities: laparoscopic surgeries, percutaneous nephrolithotomy, ureteroscopy, radical prostatectomy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, pelvic node dissection, TRUS biopsies, fertility work-up, incontinence procedures, penile prosthesis, and advanced pediatric surgery.

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive urology consultation and management for inpatients.
- Perform general urological procedures, including laparoscopic surgeries, ureteroscopy, and nephrectomy.
- Manage urological emergencies and provide on-call coverage.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as TRUS biopsies and fertility work-up.
- Collaborate with hospital staff for patient care and follow-up.
