Urgent Care Physician (MD/DO) - Phenix City, AL | Up to $10K Sign-On Bonus
About The Position
Stopwatch Urgent Care is hiring a full-time Urgent Care Physician for its Phenix City, Alabama clinic. The physician will also cover the nearby Ladonia clinic. Phenix City is located on the Alabama-Georgia border across from Columbus, Georgia. The role follows a rotating schedule of three 12-hour shifts one week and four the next. There is no on-call work or overnight work, but weekends rotate. The clinic averages 3–4 patients per hour. The physician makes clinical decisions while on shift, supported by established protocols, a dedicated clinic team, and clinical leadership. Onboarding includes a structured clinical orientation. Schedules are published in advance through a self-scheduling app, and additional shifts are available. Compensation is a competitive hourly rate based on experience and credentials, with time-and-a-half after 40 hours and productivity incentives available above base pay. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 may be offered based on experience and start date, with a 12-month commitment. Relocation assistance may also be available. Company-paid malpractice, DOT Medical Examiner training, a generous CME allowance, student loan repayment assistance, and free clinic visits for the physician and family are also offered.
Requirements
- MD or DO licensed in Alabama, or eligible for Alabama licensure.
- Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- DOT Medical Examiner certification, or willingness to complete it within six weeks of starting; training is provided.

- Urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and episodic conditions.
- Perform common urgent care procedures, including laceration repair, abscess drainage, splinting, wound care, and DOT physicals.
- Order and interpret in-house laboratory tests and imaging.
- Prescribe treatment and educate patients.
- Complete same-day charting in the Experity EMR.
- Cover the Phenix City clinic and nearby Ladonia clinic.
