Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant - Phenix City, AL | Up to $10K Sign-On Bonus
About The Position
Stopwatch Urgent Care is hiring a full-time experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for its Phenix City, Alabama clinic. The role also covers the nearby Ladonia clinic. The provider assesses, diagnoses, and treats acute and episodic conditions; performs common urgent care procedures; orders and interprets in-house laboratory tests and imaging; prescribes treatment; educates patients; and completes same-day charting in Experity EMR. The provider on shift makes independent clinical decisions with support from established protocols, a dedicated clinic team, and clinical leadership. Onboarding includes a structured clinical orientation. Schedules are published in advance through a self-scheduling app, and additional shifts are available to pick up. The schedule rotates between three shifts one week and four the next. There is no on-call duty or overnight work, and weekends rotate. The clinic averages 3–4 patients per hour. Compensation is $55–$90 per hour based on experience, qualifications, and clinical assessment, with time-and-a-half after 40 hours and productivity incentives available above base pay. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 may be offered based on experience and start date, subject to a 12-month commitment. Relocation assistance may also be available.
Requirements
- Alabama Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) license, or eligibility for licensure.
- National certification: AANP or ANCC for Nurse Practitioners, or NCCPA for Physician Assistants.
- At least 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience; new graduates are not eligible.
- Current BLS certification.
- DOT Medical Examiner certification, or willingness to complete it within 6 weeks of starting; training is provided.

Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and episodic conditions.
- Perform common urgent care procedures, including laceration repair, abscess drainage, splinting, wound care, and DOT physicals.
- Order and interpret in-house laboratory tests and imaging.
- Prescribe treatment and educate patients.
- Complete same-day charting in Experity EMR.
- Provide coverage at the Phenix City clinic and nearby Ladonia clinic.
