About The Position

This is an 8-month co-op position for a University Student in Telecom Engineering, starting in the Fall of 2026. The role is temporary and located in Toronto. The student will be a member of the Telecom Engineering team, which is responsible for Telecom network solutions to support power system applications. Hydro One is the largest electricity transmission and distribution provider in Ontario, serving nearly 1.5 million customers with a history dating back over 110 years.

Requirements

  • Discipline: Telecom or Power System Engineering, Telecommunication Engineer or Electrical Engineer
  • Academic Level: 3rd year
  • Must be enrolled in post-secondary level studies and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term (exceptions made if work term is required for graduation)
  • Strong communication & organizational skills
  • Detailed oriented
  • Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Occasional Travel to sites
  • If an international student, must have obtained a proper work permit and a Social Insurance Number (SIN)

Responsibilities

  • Developing design standards, deployment designs and configuration settings, updating reports for telecommunications systems and projects
  • Assisting other team members with projects of greater complexity
  • Coordinating with other Engineering teams, Project Management, and third-party customers
