About The Position

Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking a motivated University Admissions Counselor to oversee the Phoenix, AZ territory in a unique remote (work from home in Phoenix, AZ) opportunity. This role involves supporting Grand Canyon University's Traditional Ground Campus students. The position offers a starting salary of $58,656 per year with a tenure-based compensation plan that allows for increased earning potential annually. The ideal candidate will find fulfillment in serving others, be passionate about education, and have a demonstrated history of being a team player who is adaptable and intentional in their work. This role is crucial in helping high school students make informed decisions about their education and community at Grand Canyon University, guiding them from application through their initial weeks on campus.

Requirements

  • Must live in or near Yuma/Havasu, AZ.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • No delinquent or in default on a federal student loan as verified in credit report; if in rehabilitation, credit report must reflect current payments.
  • Outstanding time management and organization skills.
  • Clear communication and engaging presentation skills.
  • Self-motivation and drive to succeed.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to demonstrate empathy.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a flexible schedule.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the territory.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to use personal vehicle for work.
  • Computer literacy, specifically proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Host and implement event/activity plans for the territory to build awareness of academic programs and campus community, driving inquiry generation.
  • Provide exceptional counseling to prospective students and their families through various mediums (in-person, phone, email, text, Zoom).
  • Champion the GCE mission, promoting Grand Canyon University student success and institutional growth.
  • Connect with community college students, faculty, and staff in the local territory.
  • Engage stakeholders through fairs, school visits, presentations, community/campus events, and hosting campus visits.
  • Support prospective Grand Canyon University campus students and families through the admissions process, guiding them towards a successful campus experience.
  • Travel to Phoenix, AZ 1-3 times per month for events if residing outside of Phoenix.
