Student Services Counselor – Traditional Ground Campus – Grand Canyon University
About The Position
Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking a motivated Student Services Counselor to provide academic and finance counseling for Grand Canyon University's Traditional Ground Campus students. This is a campus-based opportunity where you will play an integral role in supporting students on their journey towards graduation. You will build relationships with students and faculty, provide individualized counseling on academic progression and payment options, and champion student success through various communication mediums. The role requires a servant's heart, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to helping students achieve their academic and financial goals.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree.
- No delinquent or in default on a federal student loan as verified in your credit report. If in a rehabilitation program, your credit report must reflect that you are current, not delinquent, on your payments.
- Outstanding customer service, organization and time management skills.
- Clear communication skills (in person, in writing, and on the phone).
- Well-developed listening skills.
- Self-motivation and drive to succeed.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to demonstrate empathy.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Nice To Haves
- Relevant industry related professional experience.
- Experience working with CRM tools.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized counseling about academic progression requirements and payment options.
- Build relationships with students and faculty within the Grand Canyon University campus community.
- Provide exceptional support to students and their families through various mediums including in-person, phone, email, text, and Zoom.
- Champion the GCE mission and celebrate programmatic milestones.
- Multitask many priorities and work as a team with admissions staff to monitor assigned students' progress.
- Strategize ways to help students meet their academic progression requirements and financial obligations.
- Identify and resolve potential issues that could prevent students from attaining a college degree.
- Support Grand Canyon University campus students and families.
