About The Position

Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking a motivated University Admissions Counselor to oversee the Prescott, AZ territory. This is a unique opportunity to work in an office setting in Phoenix, AZ, while serving students in the Prescott area. GCE is a growing educational service company that supports the post-secondary education sector and works closely with Grand Canyon University (GCU) to benefit students. The role involves helping community college students make informed decisions about their education at GCU's campus in Phoenix, AZ, guiding them from application through their initial weeks on campus.

Requirements

  • Must live in or near Prescott, AZ
  • Bachelor's degree
  • No delinquent or in default on a federal student loan as verified in credit report. If in rehabilitation program, credit report must reflect current, not delinquent, payments.
  • Outstanding time management and organization skills
  • Clear communication and engaging presentation skills
  • Self-motivation and drive to succeed
  • High emotional intelligence
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy
  • A valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexible schedule and willingness to travel

Responsibilities

  • Host and implement event/activity plans for the territory to build awareness of academic programs and campus community, and drive inquiry generation.
  • Provide exceptional counseling to prospective students and their families through various mediums (in-person, phone, email, text, Zoom), championing the GCE mission and promoting GCU student success and institutional growth.
  • Connect with community college students, faculty, and staff in the local territory.
  • Engage all major stakeholders in the territory.
  • Maintain a full schedule including fairs, school visits, presentations, community/campus events, and hosting campus visits.
  • Support prospective GCU campus students and families through the admissions process, guiding them towards a successful campus experience.
  • Travel to Phoenix, AZ 1-3 times per month for those residing outside of Phoenix.
