About The Position

The Universal Specialist promotes and sells Landmark Credit Union banking products and services while performing teller duties. The role works with members to open various accounts, complete and process loan applications, redeem certificates of deposit, accept wire instructions, and conduct cash-handling and other teller transactions. The position reports to the Branch Manager or Assistant Branch Manager. This 40-hour-per-week position works weekday shifts and every other Saturday. Branch hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendance at training at headquarters or an off-site location may be required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of previous teller experience within retail banking; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Prior knowledge of banking products, or the ability to learn their benefits and features quickly.
Experience with, or the ability to become proficient in, all programs and systems used for the job.
Excellent oral and written communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
Ability to learn and comply with company policies and procedures and applicable job-related state and federal laws and regulations.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to refer or cross-sell products and/or prior sales experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Promote and sell Landmark Credit Union banking products and services.
Open deposit accounts, including IRA and HSA accounts.
Interview members for loan applications and complete and process applications.
Sell debt protection and cross-sell other credit union services.
Develop proficiency in credit scoring and analysis and use the Credit Guide Scoring System to help evaluate loan applications.
Counsel members on the wise use of credit.
Provide friendly, courteous, and expedient teller and related services, maintaining a balanced cash drawer daily.
Perform all teller transactions, including cash handling.
May train to perform overrides for other associates as needed.
Attend training at headquarters or an off-site location if required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
