About The Position

JGS Lifecare - Leavitt Family Jewish Home is seeking a Unit Manager, Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for their Skilled Nursing facility. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Rehabilitation Unit, managing nurses and CNAs, and ensuring high-quality resident care. The position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with on-call requirements including one weekday shift per week and every 6th weekend. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Active, unencumbered Massachusetts RN license
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred in a Long Term Care setting, with strong clinical assessment skills
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and following instructions in English
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain regulatory compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and the medical team, and represent the organization professionally
  • Applicants for this position must be able to produce a negative drug test.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day activities of the Rehabilitation Unit, managing nurses and certified nursing assistants to ensure high-quality resident care
  • Assume full responsibility for residents’ nursing care, monitor conditions, follow physician orders, and apply recognized nursing techniques and standards
  • Recognize and report changes in residents’ conditions, initiate or assist with interventions, and maintain a safe, supportive environment
  • Instruct nursing staff on policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to administrative and clinical standards
  • Monitor trends in nursing practices, evaluate their applicability, and implement improvements to enhance care quality
