About The Position

Armenian Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Unit Manager (LPN/RN) to provide high-quality care and support to residents. This role involves 24-hour clinical oversight for an assigned 41-42 bed nursing unit, supervising, orienting, evaluating, and disciplining nursing staff. The Unit Manager will oversee all daily clinical and administrative operations, ensure accurate documentation and resident assessments, coordinate MDS assessments, and manage admission, discharge, and care planning processes. The position requires making frequent rounds, administering medications and treatments when necessary, carrying out physician orders, and ensuring compliance with regulations and safety policies. The center emphasizes community, cultural connection, and personalized attention, building on over 110 years of service. The role offers competitive pay, a Monday-Friday day shift schedule with flexibility to support all shifts, and an on-call weekend rotation. Requirements

  • Active Massachusetts RN or LPN license
  • CPR and IV Certification
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in a charge nurse or supervisory role
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision ‑making skills
  • Solid knowledge of skilled nursing regulations and elder care standards
  • Ability to work effectively with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
  • High school education or GED
  • Demonstrate physical ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, squat, and lift/carry up to 20 pounds unassisted or 50 pounds with assistance
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and following instructions in English

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24 ‑hour clinical oversight for a 41–42 bed nursing unit
  • Supervise, orient, evaluate, and discipline nursing staff assigned to the unit
  • Oversee all daily clinical and administrative operations on the unit
  • Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation and resident assessments
  • Coordinate and prepare MDS assessments in collaboration with the MDS Nurse
  • Oversee admission, discharge, and care planning processes
  • Make frequent rounds to ensure quality resident care and staff performance
  • Administer medications and treatments when necessary
  • Carry out and communicate physicians’ and NPs’ orders; promptly report changes in resident condition
  • Ensure restorative and rehabilitative programs are implemented as ordered
  • Monitor compliance with federal and state long ‑term care regulations
  • Enforce safety policies, infection control practices, and proper use of equipment
  • Respond professionally to fast ‑paced, high ‑acuity, and occasionally stressful situations
