About The Position

CareOne at Redstone is seeking an experienced RN Unit Manager for their Long Term Care, Short Term Rehab, Skilled Nursing, and Sub Acute Care units. This role is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and oversight of all aspects of an assigned clinical unit, ensuring high-quality resident care and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Actively licensed RN in assigned state(s) of employment.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Two years of LTC experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Acute Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure required staffing levels are met for each shift and adjust as needed.
  • Lead and participate in resident care meetings, including "At Risk" meetings, clinical review, PPS, and QA/A meetings.
  • Monitor the provision of resident care by licensed nurses and CNAs, ensuring documentation is complete.
  • Review 24-hour resident change in condition reports daily and ensure necessary follow-up.
  • Review resident medical records to ensure clinical programs are in place per policy.
  • Identify staff educational needs and collaborate with the Facility Educator.
  • Ensure resident care and documentation comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Make work assignments for assigned staff, including breaks and lunches.
  • Initiate disciplinary action as necessary in collaboration with DON/ADON.
  • Communicate with department managers and participate in resolving grievances.
  • Ensure physician orders are followed.
  • Assist with preparing performance evaluations.
  • Greet new admissions and families, and assist with the admission process.
  • Ensure all admission documentation is complete within 24-48 hours.
  • Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules.
  • Provide direct nursing care as necessary.
  • Report problem areas to the Director of Nursing and assist in developing corrective action.
  • Participate in continuing education programs.
  • Ensure nursing staff follows policies and procedures, including dress code.
  • Ensure nursing staff participate in fire safety and disaster preparedness drills.
  • Ensure nursing personnel follow infection control procedures.
  • Ensure nursing equipment is operated safely.
  • Participate in the development of resident care plans.
  • Ensure resident privacy and that staff knock before entering rooms.
  • Report and assist with investigations of resident abuse allegations.
  • Assist Social Services with Advance Directive/Code Status documentation.
  • Participate in annual and complaint survey processes and assist with plans of correction.
