About The Position

The Unit Clerk functions as an assistant to the House Supervisor ensuring that all units in the hospital are running at optimal function. This individual works closely with the House Supervisors to manage the clerical functions of all nursing units, visiting hours and other duties assigned by the House Supervisors. This position will be required to work on all units/programs and will be aware of the different duties to be applied to each.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Recognized leadership capabilities
  • Ability to take charge in code situations if needed
  • Ability to make staffing changes when needed and be trained and function in coordinators position if needed
  • Must be able to interact positively with patients on a daily basis whose behavior may be difficult, uncooperative or aggressive
  • Must be able to perform concentrated and/or complex mental activity with frequent involvement in complex and/or highly technical situations
  • Must be able to work successfully under highly stressful conditions
  • Must be able to make sound, independent judgments based on scientific and/or ethical principles
  • Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures
  • Must be an expert with computers, must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and have a basic knowledge of other computer systems
  • Must be able to collaborate with other multidisciplinary team members in an appropriate fashion
  • Must be capable of adapting to varying workloads an work assignments on a constant basis
  • Must have effective comprehensive reading skills, strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Must possess a valid California Drivers License in order to transport patients and/or staff, or drive hospital vehicles

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor Degree in psychology, social work, education, human services, business or related field
  • Completion of program or minimum of two (2) years experience as EMT, CNA, Medical Assistant, Security Training

Responsibilities
