About The Position
The Syracuse City School District is seeking a dedicated and diverse team of educators to partner with its Superintendent in moving the district toward its goals. The Syracuse City School District represents 35 schools and programs, serving approximately 19,000 students Pre-K–12. The district offers 120 different athletic teams for students in grades 7-12. Our coaching staff consists of certified, dedicated people who enjoy working with our student athletes. In grades 7-8, the modified program emphasizes skill development, participation, discipline, enjoyment of play, competition, and dedication to hard work. The high school level (freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams) stresses the development of academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship, with a higher refinement of skill and a greater emphasis on competition.
Requirements
- New York State Coaching Certification
- Valid First Aid course
- Valid Adult CPR certification
- Workshop - Child Abuse Identification
- Workshop - School Violence Intervention and Prevention
- Workshop - Dignity For All Students Act (DASA)
- Fingerprint Clearance
- School District Recommendation
- Pass a fingerprint-based background check

Responsibilities
- Coach Unified Flag Football for Corcoran High School for the Fall 2026 season.
- Develop student athletes' skills, discipline, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.
- Prepare student athletes for high school competition.
- Ensure student athletes are focused on academics and goal setting.
- Promote maximum participation and enjoyment of play.
