About The Position

Novacore is seeking high-performing, eager college students majoring in Insurance Risk, Business Risk, or Business who are interested in beginning a career in underwriting to join its 2027 Summer Internship Program. Interns work alongside Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants within one of Novacore’s specialty market segments. The paid program includes mentorship, peer interaction, project work, executive visibility, volunteer opportunities, and networking events. It runs from May 17 through August 5, 2027, with a hybrid schedule requiring three days onsite and two days working from home.

Requirements

Current college student; junior year preferred.
Strong attention to detail and focus.
Customer-focused attitude and ability to maintain strong relationships.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and stay organized.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate teamwork capability.

Nice To Haves

Major in Insurance Risk, Business Risk, or Business.
Junior year of college preferred.

Responsibilities

Fully assist team members as needed.
Interact with agents by phone and email to provide superior customer service.
Review submissions for completeness and accuracy and request information as needed.
Assist with policy issuance, binding, and billing.
Review documentation and prepare files under underwriting guidance.
Follow up on open items and request additional information to finalize tasks.
Attend team meetings and perform additional duties as assigned.
